In Ordino the feud was between the Rossell family and the one founded by Guillem d’Areny-Plandolit, who amassed his fortune almost entirely thanks to his activities related to the iron industry, and with that money he built this very original building dating from the 17th century, which over the years and the growing family wealth, was enlarged to reach the dimensions we can see today.
The Romanesque is also very present in Ordino, since it has multiple places and very interesting monumental buildings. The most outstanding are: The Church of Sant Martí de la Cortinada, with its mural paintings; L’Estarell Bridge and the Church of Sant Corneli and Sant Cebrià, dating from medieval times.
Other interesting places to visit are the Natural Park of Vall de Sorteny, the Botanical Garden, and the National Auditorium of Music of Andorra.
What to see in Ordino?; The Valley of Sorteny in the Serrat
The natural park of the Sorteny Valley in the Serrat, ideal in winter for excursions with snowshoes or mountain skis. The rest of the year you can choose from numerous thematic guided excursions. From the park you can climb to the peak of L’Estanyó (2,915 m), passing through a beautiful lake, and the peak of La Serrera (2,913 m) through the pass of Els Meners.
