We will start our trip from your hotel in Barcelona or Girona at the agreed time.
We begin our tour in Tossa de Mar, one of the most popular destinations on the Costa Brava. Our first stop will be the iconic castle that dominates the town. Built in the 12th century to protect the town from possible pirate attacks, here you can enjoy the stunning views of the beach and the old town from the main square.
Within the castle walls is the Vila Vella, the only fortified medieval town that can currently be seen on the Costa Brava. Walking through its cobbled streets, full of stone houses adorned with flower pots and colorful flowers, is one of the best experiences in Tossa de Mar.
After exploring the Vila Vella, we will head to the urban center of Tossa de Mar to enjoy a snack in one of the many restaurants you will find on Calle dels Socors. This is the liveliest street in Tossa de Mar, packed with clothing and souvenir shops. In the height of summer, it is often very busy, so it is advisable to make a reservation at the restaurant.
We will then continue our journey towards the picturesque medieval villages, starting with Pals. Upon arrival we will head to the Mirador del Pedró, one of the highest points in the village. From here, you will enjoy a spectacular panoramic view that encompasses the rice fields, the Empordà plain and, on clear days, as far as the Pyrenees. This is the perfect place to take some photos and capture the beauty of the surroundings.
From the viewpoint, we will descend through the narrow streets flanked by stone houses adorned with colourful flowers. We will visit the Torre de les Hores, a 12th-century Romanesque tower that used to be part of the old defensive wall. Its name comes from the bell tower added in the 15th century. The tower is one of the emblems of Pals and offers a fascinating insight into medieval architecture.
Finally, just 10 minutes by car, we will head towards Peratallada, another beautiful medieval town with a castle, walls, moats and palaces. Once there, we will enjoy a walk through its cobbled streets and the stone facades that characterize this town. The Plaza de les Voltes is the heart of Peratallada, known for its well-preserved medieval center.
Finally, we will close this day of adventure by returning to Barcelona.
