Tarragona – Ruins and Priorat Tour

We will arrive in the city of Tarragona to take a walking tour of the most emblematic places of this beautiful city that uniquely mixes the past and the present. The visit to Tarragona will be the final part of Rambla Nova avenue. At this point is the Mediterranean Balcony, a viewpoint with a fabulous view.

We will now tour the Placa del Rei, in the old town of Tarragona. The terraces in this square offer a unique dining experience. We arrive at the Cathedral of Tarragona, located in the ruins of a huge Roman temple. At the end of the afternoon we will make the rchaeological Walk, a pedestrian promenade of one kilometer parallel to the ancient walls of the second century. We will finish our tour in El Portal de San Antonio. where we will have time for lunch.

In the afternoon we will departure to Priorat; the wine area of southern Catalonia, which together with La Rioja are the only ones that have the qualifer of “Q” of “quality”. First stop in Falset, to know the “Cathedral of Wine”, a modernist building built by Valls architect César Marti- nell, disciple of Antoni Gaudí. The Plaza de la Quartera is surrounded by old porches and is one of the few in Catalonia built on slopes. We will visit the Castle of the Countess of Prades, currently enabled as a Wine Interpretation Center and known as Castell del Vi. In order to finish our tour, we will have an eno-gastronomic activity in the Agricultural Falset Marçà.
