Itinerary of the Private tour of Girona

Departure from Barcelona

We will start our trip from your hotel in Barcelona at the agreed time.

Visit to Girona

We will begin our tour of the city of Girona, known as the “city of the four rivers”, at the Stone Bridge (Pont de Pedra), an iconic place to enjoy the panoramic views of the Onyar River and the famous colorful houses that line its banks. From there, we continue to the Barri Vell, the old town of Girona, which is a labyrinth of narrow, cobbled streets full of history.

In the Barri Vell, we will visit the impressive Girona Cathedral. Known for its baroque façade and for having the widest Gothic nave in the world. Its interior shows a grandiose single nave covered by a vault of diagonal arches, with lateral buttresses that house chapels and large Gothic windows. The stained glass windows of the presbytery, from the 16th century, narrate the life of the Virgin. In addition, this place has been a prominent setting for the series “Game of Thrones”.

We will then explore the Arab Baths of Girona, located at the foot of the cathedral. This medieval building, with its distinctive lantern, is captivating for its simplicity and the beauty of the play of light and shadow inside. Built in the Romanesque style, it follows the model of Roman baths, Muslim baths and Jewish mikva, with rooms that allow you to switch from cold to hot water.

We will continue our route in Girona by visiting the Museum of Jewish History located in the Bonastruc ça Porta centre in the middle of the Jewish quarter of Girona. This museum is located in the space occupied by the synagogue and its outbuildings in the 15th century, and explains the history of medieval Jewish communities in Catalonia, with a special focus on Girona. Its unique collection of medieval Hebrew tombstones from the Jewish cemetery of Montjuïc stands out.

We will end our visit to the city by walking along its ancient walls. A tour that will offer you spectacular views of the city and its surroundings. The walls are accessible from several points in the old town and provide a unique perspective of how the city defended itself in times past.

Lunch

After our visit, you can opt for a premium lunch at one of the local restaurants, enjoying the rich gastronomy of the region before returning to Barcelona.

Return to Barcelona

Finally, we will close this day of adventure by returning to Barcelona.
