Besalú and Cadaqués Private Tour

Once we have been picked up in Barcelona by our guide-driver, we will go to the first destination on our route, the village of Besalú, one of the villages that has been maintained despite the years and preserved in very good condition, several of its most historic monuments and a vast culture that we will know.

This incredible route starts from one of the most important points of interest in Besalú, the Romanesque bridge of Besalú. This cultural asset of the Besalú region crosses the Fluviá river and is the main entrance to the village; our guide will describe the entire history of this bridge so that you can not miss a single detail, from the beginning of its construction, until the time of its reconstructions or improvements.

Once we cross the bridge. We will enter the old town; we will walk through its main streets, where you can see why it is preserved as a cultural heritage. We will visit the Jewish Quarter, at this point we will have the opportunity to visit El Micvé or as it is also known Ritual Bath House. This House of Baths has the particularity that it is the only one in Spain and one of the ten in the whole European territory.

We will advance in our route until we reach the Town Hall Square, a local market of Besalú, where if you wish you can do some shopping. Some of the things you can get in this square are: the famous ratafía, which is a local liquor prepared with herbs from the village, you can also get cheeses, sausages and more.

Next, we will head to the Plaza de San Pedro, where we will be able to see and visit the church of San Vicente, we will have enough time to learn about the history of the place and take pictures, until we can head to our last point of interest in Besalú, the Mirador de Besalú; from where it is possible to have a panoramic view of the village.

Then we will head to our next destination, Cadaqués.

Arrival in Cadaqués

We will receive a brief introduction from our local guide about what we will see, the most important places we will visit and part of the history of the town.

The pearl of the Costa Brava, stands out from other towns thanks to its pleasant atmosphere, picturesque streets and some of the fishermen’s houses, among them the Blau house or also called Serinyana, where Salvador Dalí, one of the most recognized painters in the whole region and Barcelona, lived years ago. In fact, in our tour we will visit the statue of this famous painter located in front of the Platja Gran.

Other points of interest that we will see on our tour are the Plaça del Doctor Trèmol, the Carrer des Call, Santa Maria church, other destinations in the historic center of Cadaqués, until we reach one of the viewpoints of the town to enjoy the view and take a picture of the Mediterranean coast.

After touring Cadaqués, our tour of the villages is over, we will head back to our point of return in Barcelona.
