You will start your journey in the fascinating city of Barcelona, a place where modernity and history coexist in perfect harmony. From Barcelona, you will embark on a route that will take you through breathtaking landscapes and destinations full of art and history.
Your first stop will be in Figueres, where we can visit the Dalí Theatre-Museum. This museum, designed by Salvador Dalí himself, is a true work of art in itself and houses one of the most extensive collections of works by the famous surrealist painter. Here, you’ll be able to immerse yourself in Dalí’s dreamlike and fascinating world, with works ranging from his early artistic experimentations to his most renowned surrealist creations.
We will continue route to Narbonne, a charming French city that is located on the Mediterranean coast. In Narbonne, you can stroll through its historic cobbled streets, visit the impressive Cathedral of Saint-Just and Saint-Pasteur, and enjoy a meal in one of its many restaurants with terraces. We also recommend stopping at the Horreum, a Roman underground warehouse, to get a glimpse of the city’s rich history.
Just 100 km away, we will head to Carcassonne, a fortified city that looks like something out of a fairy tale. Carcassonne is known for its impressive medieval citadel, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Here, you’ll be able to walk along the city walls, explore the defensive towers, and immerse yourself in the region’s history. Do not forget to visit the Château de Carcassonne and the Basilica of Saint-Nazaire, which are true architectural gems.
Finally, we will arrive in Toulouse, known as “The Pink City” due to its distinctive terracotta architecture. In Toulouse, you’ll have the chance to explore a vibrant cultural scene, with numerous museums, galleries and theatres. Be sure to visit the Basilica of Saint-Sernin, a marvel of Romanesque art, and the Place du Capitole, the heart of the city.
We hope this itinerary offers you an enriching and exciting travel experience, full of artistic and historical discoveries. Good trip!
