Priorat is a distinguished wine region in Catalonia, Spain, known for its exceptional red wines. The region has a rich winemaking tradition dating back to the Middle Ages and is famous for the quality and complexity of its wines.
We will start the day in the town of Gratallops , in the heart of Priorat. The most expensive wine in Spain, l’Hermita, was born here . We will visit one of our favorite wineries, such as Clos Mogador or Celler Devinsi or Buil & Gine . Here we will do a small wine tasting from the winery itself.
Next we will visit the Oil Mill in Cabacés , where we will have the opportunity to learn more about this precious product. The varieties of indigenous cultivated olives are Arbequina, Farga, Morrut and Rojal. Each variety contributes a unique flavor profile to the olive oil.
At the mill, you will be able to observe the entire production process, which includes olive harvesting, grinding, extraction and filtration. You will learn how the highest quality extra virgin olive oil is obtained.
They will also offer us an Olive Oil tasting of different varieties of extra virgin olive oil produced in the region. You will discover the nuances of flavor and aroma that make these oils so special.
To end our day, we will enjoy a delicious lunch at a local restaurant in Priorat. Many restaurants offer traditional Catalan dishes that pair perfectly with the region’s wines.
After a day full of activities, we will begin the trip back to Barcelona. Take the opportunity to enjoy the scenery as you drive back or use the time on the tour to relax.
