Tour Besalú, Rupit and Vic – 1 Day

We will arrive at the Old Bridge of Besalú, It is believed that it was built in the eleventh century. During the tour we visit the ecclesiastical monuments that are located in the town, such as the churches of Sant Pere, Santa Maria and Sant Vicen, which alternate Romanesque elements with other Gothic elements. Medieval baths, dedicated to Hebrew ritual ablutions, can be visited in the Jewish quarter.

Then we will visit the Natural Park of the Volcanic Zone of Garrotxa, a place of exceptional landscape value thanks to the thick beech, oak and holm oak forests that exist. We will visit Rupit, considered as the medieval charm of Catalonia. The charm of this city is found in its stone houses, built in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries, which are very well preserved despite being around 400 years old.

We will leave the village towards Cingles del Tavertet, a natural space that rises above the Valley of Sau and the plana d’Osona. We will take our way to Vic, a historical and monumental city, capital of a fertile pre-Pyrenean plain. We tour the medieval center of the city, from Plaque Major. In this area we can see Gothic-style buildings such as Casa Beuló or more modern styles such as Casa Tolosa. We finish our visit knowing the remains of the Palau dels Montcada, ruins of an ancient Roman temple of the second century A.D. prehistoric of Sant Bartolomeu Sesgorgues.
